Trees Atlanta IS Environmental Education
The BeltLine Arboretum Education Program
This promising program seeks to engage students, teachers, and the community in urban forestry projects that transform school grounds into more attractive, healthy, and educational places. Participating schools were selected because of their environmental interest and their proximity to the BeltLine Arboretum; this program uses the BeltLine Arboretum as an educational opportunity to bring children closer to nature. The BeltLine Arboretum Partner Network is a group of local Atlanta environmental organizations that collaborate to provide programming to these schools. Perennial Education - Volunteer Projects
Since 1985, every Saturday is an educational event for Trees Atlanta. Have you seen us in your neighborhood planting, mulching, watering, or caring for trees? Or perhaps you saw us at your favorite Atlanta festival, or speaking at a neighborhood meeting, a school, or a conference about the importance of trees? Our goal is to engage the community and have involved more than 10,000 citizens who have planted over 72,000 trees since 1985. Our volunteers are highly committed and knowledgeable about Atlanta's urban canopy and its only getting better...
