Tree Tour: Inman Park Neighborhood Arboretum
Sat Sep 28 | 10am-11:30am | Inman Park
Stroll through the heart of the Inman Park Neighborhood. You’ll pass by historic homes and buildings and discuss the early history of Inman Park and its development. Inman Park was Atlanta’s first planned residential suburb and also Atlanta’s first electric trolley neighborhood. Created at the cusp of the twentieth century as the ideal Victorian neighborhood — with curved streets, large residential lots, and parks — it was built upon the tattered landscape of Atlanta’s Civil War battlefield, two miles east of Downtown Atlanta. You will also see many beautiful and historic trees
The Inman Park Neighborhood Arboretum is part of seven Neighborhood Arboreta that were established in mid-2000s through a collaborative effort of neighbors, Trees Atlanta volunteers, and the city.
About the Docent: Lynn Koehnemann is a Trees Atlanta Certified Volunteer. Lynn is a tree lover who moved to Inman Park in 2011. She is an environmentalist, native plant advocate, former planner and geography professor.
