Join Trees Atlanta Executive Director Greg Levine for a guided tour highlighting some of his favorite trees on the Atlanta Beltline Arboretum Westside Trail. You will come away we facts and inspiration for your own yard. Greg will share his favorite trees, practical design ideas, tree combinations, and tips for planting the right tree in the right place in your own yard— to create shade, seasonal color, or support bird, pollinators, and the health of Atlanta’s urban forest.

Many of the featured trees are available at Trees Atlanta's 2026 Fall Tree Sale, This will be a great opportunity to see specimens in the landscape before choosing the right tree for your home. Ask questions, and leave with the inspiration and confidence to bring a touch of the Beltline Arboretum into your own yard.

About the Atlanta Beltline Arboretum: Established in 2006, the Atlanta Beltline Arboretum serves as a component of Atlanta’s urban forest, acting as a public garden, ecological corridor, and a learning landscape. The Arboretum is a dynamic collection of wild and cultivated tree and woody plant species, along with extensive southeastern grass and forb groundcover that showcases sustainable landscape management and demonstrates native plant use in an urban setting. Upon completion the Atlanta Beltline Arboretum will comprise over 100 acres across the 22-mile linear public garden, earning the title of the world’s longest accredited linear arboretum.

About the Guide: Greg Levine is Trees Atlanta’s Executive Director as of 2023. Greg began his tenure at Trees Atlanta in 1995 when there were only four employees. In the nearly three decades since Greg joined Trees Atlanta, he has been hands-on in all facets of programming, as well as organizing partners, communities, and volunteers that support the mission of Trees Atlanta.

Additional Information

• Getting There: Meet your guide at Washington Park (1125 Lena St NW, Atlanta, GA 30314). There is free parking by the Washington Park Racquet Center and on the street. (No bathrooms are available.) MARTA get off at the Ashby station. MARTA Bus 51 can get you closer to the park. Bike racks are available.

• What to Bring and Wear: Reusable water bottle, comfortable shoes (that can get muddy), sunscreen, layers of clothing, hats/sunglasses, and bug repellent are recommended.

• Terrain, Incline, and Length: This is a 1.5-mile paved trail. There is some hills or elevation changes.

• Registration required. This is a free tour. Please consider making a donation when registering.
