Attend the Root Ball

Thank you for your support.
We’re looking forward to hosting you (in person) in 2022!

You’re Invited to the 2021 Virtual Root Ball – May 27, 2021

Root Ball is one of our most anticipated events of the year. It’s a wonderful evening of celebrating Trees Atlanta’s supporters, volunteers, and donors. Look back at some fun moments from Root Ball evenings of years past below.

It’s 2021, and we’re not quite ready to dust off our dress shoes. This year, you can wear pajamas, flip flops, or a fancy ball gown to Root Ball. It’s up to you; get comfy — the party is at your house!

This year, Root Ball is coming to you!

Join us as we celebrate our achievements, recognize the 2021 Tree Champion award winners and (re)celebrate the 2020 Tree Champions, and lift a glass of your favorite beverage as we launch the groundbreaking of our new Headquarters on Warner Street SW.

Virtual Root Ball Link

All registered guests have been sent a link to connect on May 27.
A link to the online Silent Auction is also included (bidding has begun).
Please check your email that you used to register for your ticket.
If you have not yet received an email with link, please contact alex@treesatlanta.org.

It’s Zoom with a bit more Vroom.

Everyone’s welcome! Attendees can choose any level of support, from Free to various levels of support that come with a Gift Basket and additional perks. Gift Baskets will be delivered to you prior to Root Ball and will put a little fancy into this virtual event.

  • All tickets include online access to our Root Ball online broadcast and Silent Auction.
  • Root Ball Gift Basket: an insulated tote bag containing Trees Atlanta logoed double-walled stainless steel wine cup with bamboo lid and logoed mask (because, you know).
  • Premier Gift Basket: (Tupelo ticket and above) also includes additional items to enhance the evening celebration: a bottle of wine, ingredients to make Chef Gummere’s appetizer, and early access (6:00 pm) to an interactive cooking demo.
  • An interactive cooking demonstration with Chef Lance Gummere is included for Tupelo tickets and above. Chef Gummere’s culinary career has spanned more than two decades at the helm of some of Atlanta’s most prestigious restaurants, including co-founding two local favorites, Bantam & Biddy and The Federal. The latter was nominated for a James Beard Award in 2017 in the category “America’s Best New Restaurants.” As a special treat, Chef Gummere will demonstrate how to make his most popular spring vegetarian appetizers: Warm Spring Asparagus and Fontina Tart with Basil and Tomatoes. Guests will receive ingredients lists prior to the event so that you can cook along with the Chef. All paid ticket holders are automatically entered into a random-drawing to receive a package of 5 meals from Mercer Street Meals, Chef Lance’s home meal service.
  • The virtual Root Ball broadcast features the 2021 Tree Champion Award winners, sneak peak at the future Trees Atlanta Headquarters in Oakland City, and stories from Trees Atlanta staff, volunteers, and special guests from across metro Atlanta.
  • Registrations including Gift Baskets that are received after 5/24/21 will be contacted after Root Ball to arrange for pick up. Tickets including Premium Gift Baskets received after 5/24/21 will not include ingredients for appetizer, but will include wine. All such ticket holders will be contacted to coordinate pickup after Root Ball.

We encourage you to enjoy the virtual event with a glass of your favorite beverage. We’ll close the with a special toast from Connie Veates and Greg Levine, Trees Atlanta’s Co-Executive Directors, as well as our friends and supporters from across metro Atlanta.
