Job Training for Green Careers

Workforce Development

Urban forestry has rapidly increased in importance. Scientific evidence and public policy strongly emphasize the role of trees in offsetting climate change and environmental pressures in urban areas. Among the many benefits of trees are mitigating the rising urban heat island effect, decreasing flooding and stormwater damage, and improving air quality.

New career pathways are catching up as awareness of urban forestry and job opportunities expand.

Urban Forestry Career Pathways

The Urban Forestry Career Pathways (UFOR) is a 10 week on on-the-job training program for young adults (aged 18-30) seeking entry to careers in urban forestry, environmental conservation, and nature based infrastructure. New trainee classes begin every 12 weeks.
