2025 Weeds and Wine is Here!

It’s officially summer in Georgia and the Atlanta Beltline Arboretum is teeming with life. Summertime brings new flowers, plants to enjoy and weeds to remove! The Beltline Arboretum team needs volunteers’ help in the fight against the invasive species that harm our native plants.

Hi, I’m Mariana Thomas, the 2025 Weeds ad Wine intern! Come join me this summer as we do some good for the environment and then relax with a drink afterwards?

The Weeds and Wine program gives volunteers the opportunity to help maintain the Beltline meadows while also enjoying a small treat at a  restaurant that borders the Atlanta Beltline. On Wednesday evenings this summer, Trees Atlanta will be leading groups of volunteers in weeding projects from 6pm-8pm. After the project, volunteers are treated by a local restaurant that provides a drink as appreciation for the hard work. Whether that’s a beer, cocktail, soda, or glass of wine (maybe even an appetizer or two…), the experience provides the perfect spot to relax as well as the chance to get to know your fellow volunteers.

All participants MUST register online in advance through our Calendar of Events.

Registered volunteers will receive instructions on proper attire and the meeting location. Volunteers are reminded that projects require physical effort outdoors in warm temperatures in areas with vegetation. Bring a refillable water bottle to stay hydrated, and sunscreen and/or insect repellant may be recommended. Cheers!

A Big Cheers to our Weeds & Wine Host Restaurants

Please show your appreciation to these Beltline businesses for partnering with our Weeds and Wine program this summer! Their continued support of the Trees Atlanta mission keeps the arboretum meadows fresh for pollinators, wildlife, and human visitors alike! Georgia summers are hot, so a big thanks to our community of supporting restaurants that offer us places to cool down!
