Atlanta Artist Edie Morton Holds Bees Sacred

Sacred Pollinators

Sacred Pollinators: Honey Bees is an environmental art project by Edie Morton. Inspired by the mission of Trees Atlanta, this new exhibit is part of her ongoing series highlighting the desperate challenges faced by nature’s pollinators. The exhibit opens on April 18, 2016, at the Trees Atlanta TreeHouse.

Bees are subject to numerous pressures in the modern world and their decline is driven by a combination of factors. The abundance and diversity of flowers has dwindled, bees are exposed to cocktails of agrochemicals, and novel parasites. One individual bee cannot affect the environment, but working collectively it can feed the world. In the same way each positive act we as individuals contribute to the whole makes a difference.

Exhibit Dates:
April 18 – May 31
