Hot Sun, Cool Sips: Weeds & Wine 2024

As the meadows of the Atlanta Beltline Arboretum burst alive with color in the spring and summer, the “weeds” thrive as well. Undesirable plant species aggressively compete for space with native plants. The Atlanta Beltline Arboretum team at Trees Atlanta relies on volunteers to help with the labor-intensive task of hand-pulling weeds, helping us avoid the use of chemical controls.

It’s time for Weeds & Wine!

Weeds & Wine is the perfect opportunity to make a difference and socialize with new friends! Trees Atlanta staff will lead volunteers in weeding from 6 pm to 8 pm, followed by a visit to the Weeds & Wine host restaurant to enjoy a refreshing beverage. Whether it’s wine, beer, or soda (and sometimes a little nosh, too), half the fun is getting to know your fellow volunteers. All participants MUST register online through the Calendar of Volunteer Projects.

Registered volunteers will receive instructions on proper attire and the meeting location. Volunteers are reminded that projects require physical effort outdoors in warm temperatures in areas with vegetation. Bring a refillable water bottle to stay hydrated, and sunscreen and/or insect repellant may be recommended. Cheers!
