Summer Reading Challenge: Into the Wild!
Let’s go on a summer nature adventure by turning the pages of nature-focused books! Nature has the most amazing stories to discover!
Trees Atlanta is excited to host our 2023 Summer Reading Challenge – “Into the Wild!” Readers dive into the wild world of nature books and learn more about the natural wonders of our urban forest. Enroll to come along.
- Any student reader can join!
- Log reading times for non-fiction nature focused books.
- Earn prizes for each reading milestone achieved (based on minutes logged from June 1 to July 31)
- Celebrate with us and claim your prizes at the end of summer Back-to-School Bash at the Trees Atlanta Kendeda Center on August 26.

How to Participate:
- Enroll your young reader: Use this simple online tracking form
- Check your inbox (or spam folder) for an email with the subject line “Thank you for joining Trees Atlanta’s “Into the Wild” Summer Reading Challenge!”
- Read the email thoroughly for instructions on logging your child’s books.
- Use the online tracking form or print this paper form if you prefer.
- Log daily or weekly reading minutes.
- To qualify for prizes, reading minutes must be logged online.
- Books, science articles, fact-based comics, and more qualify. As long as content is non-fiction, based in science or fact, and related to the wide wild world of nature the reading time counts!
What are the prizes?
Prizes will be determined by the number of minutes read and will be distributed in person at our Back-to-School Bash at the Trees Atlanta Kendeda Center (825 Warner Street SW) on Sat., August 26. Be sure to save the date!
Readers receive a prize for each Challenge level they achieve and surpass! Can a reader collect them all? Yes, let’s get reading!
- Less than 100 minutes: Sign up and read any minutes – Trees Atlanta logo sticker
- 100 or more: “Wilderness Wanderer” Challenge sticker
- 250 or more: “Nature Navigator” Challenge sticker + Custom Nature Journal
- 500 or more: “Forest Fanatic” Challenge sticker + Coupon to redeem for a local frozen treat (yummo!)
- 600 or more: “Eco Explorer Extraordinaire” Challenge sticker + Reader is featured in an Instagram post on @treesatlanta!
