Atlanta, Georgia – September 22, 2015 – Trees Atlanta announced details for the 16th Annual Trees Atlanta Tree Sale. The nationally known nonprofit is hosting the event at the Freedom Farmers’ Market at The Carter Center, located at 453 Freedom Parkway NE, Atlanta, GA 30307. The fundraiser will take place on Saturday, October 3rd, 2015 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. rain or shine.
Each October, the Trees Atlanta Tree Sale features over 1,500 of the best native and exotic plants available – including 200 species of trees, shrubs, native perennials, and tree-friendly vines – for purchase by the public. This year’s Tree Sale will also feature a selection of native trees, shrubs, and perennials that attract wildlife and pollinators such as birds, butterflies, and bees. Fruit and nut trees, too—persimmon, pear, plum, walnut, pecan, and many others.
The Trees Atlanta Tree Sale gives plant lovers a chance to talk with experts and certified arborist about why each tree is unique, so that making the decision on which tree to buy becomes easier. You will also have the opportunity to take one of our curated shoppers’ tours that will focus on native, pollinator and shade trees available for purchase on site.
All proceeds benefit Trees Atlanta’s planting and education programs, helping our community plant approximately 3,000 trees each year and reach over 8,000 children and adults with our education programs all around metro Atlanta. The trees planted with funds from the annual sale help rejuvenate Atlanta’s declining tree canopy and contribute to a healthy, diverse forest.
