Tree Tour: The People and Trees of Emory University

Sun May 24 | 10am-11:30am | Emory University

Explore and learn about the land Emory University occupies, the trees that make up its campus canopy, and the people connected to Emory and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention who have dedicated their lives to community health. Along the way, we’ll explore how Atlanta’s urban forest—much like these individuals—works every day to support the health, healing, and resilience of our city

About the Tour Guide: Lenette Golding is a dedicated volunteer docent for Trees Atlanta, where she leads tours in the Kirkwood neighborhood. She earned a master’s degree in public health from the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University in 2003 and is a lecturer for the Hubert Department of Global Health. Lenette encourages people to spend more time outdoors, as this can lead to better health outcomes and a stronger sense of community.
